Devlin Rod And Customs is an award-winning hot rod and custom fabrication shop located in Wichita, Kansas. We specialize in full builds all the way down to servicing custom and classic cars. Our shop has been in business for over 20 years and works on anything from early hot rods, restorations, resto-mods, trucks, and four-wheel drives. Everything we do is based on quality and not quantity. We have won multiple awards, including the prestigious AMBR and GoodGuys Street Rod of the Year.
Responsibilities
- Tear down and final assembly of custom vehicle builds
- Act as project manager for builds, including communication with management to obtain parts and assess/advising on additional problems during the build
- Document the entire build process through daily time sheets and photographs
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail for all aspects of each build
- Perform sheet metal shaping and use shaping equipment
- MIG welding (TIG welding preferred)
- Work delicately around finished products, including final assembly of full builds and servicing finished vehicles
- Communicate technical information clearly to clients when necessary
Requirements
- Two plus years of experience in a hot rod shop or similar environment
- Sheet metal shaping abilities and knowledge of shaping equipment
- Proficient in MIG welding (TIG welding preferred)
- Ability to provide your own tools and toolbox for basic day-to-day work and repairs
- Strong understanding of powertrain systems and automotive electrical systems (a plus)
- Proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment
- Valid driver’s license; additional certifications in automotive service are a plus
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Customer service skills for communicating technical information to clients
