About the role

Greets restaurant guests in a friendly and courteous manner. Describes and answers questions regarding the dinner menu, cocktail list, and hours of operations. Arranges for prompt seating of guests in order of arrival or availability of seating accommodations. Quotes accurate waiting times, and seats guests when tables are available. Identifies casino comps, hotel and VIP guests for seating. Informs Manager of VIP guests. Maintains cleanliness of menus. Familiarizes self with hotel/casino to provide accurate directions to guests.

• Absorb and respond to telephone calls.
• Communicate with servers regarding guests’ preferences or special needs.
• Maintain a professional demeanor throughout the evening.

Qualifications

• Literacy and fluency in English.
• Above average communication and interactive skills.
• Legible handwriting.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Excellent guest service skills.
• Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations.
• Acts as a role model to other Team Members.
• Adheres to all regulatory, company and department policies and procedures.

Education and Experience

High School graduate preferred. Previous experience as a host preferred; previous reservation systems experience preferred.

Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Auditory and visual range must include immediate environment.
• Manual dexterity to operate a cash register.
• Mobility to move quickly and easily throughout the restaurant and kitchen areas.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
