About the role
Greet and interact with guests as part of a service team to create a memorable experience by exhibiting remarkable personal skills and providing exceptional service in an upscale and professional environment.
Responsibilities
- Warmly greet each Tree Room guest.
- Exhibit exceptional guest service skills to create a positive Sundance Experience for each guest and fulfill Forbes 4-star standards.
- Demonstrate job and product knowledge to provide guests with accurate information about food, wine, service, and resort details.
- Share the Sundance story of land preservation and environmental commitment when appropriate.
- Exhibit proper phone etiquette, answering all incoming calls and returning messages in a timely manner.
- Assist guests in making reservations, collecting pertinent information and recording it in the reservation system.
- Confirm reservations for large parties or during high-volume events.
- Organize restaurant reservations for the evening under the direction of the Tree Room Manager.
- Inform the service team of special requests for reservations.
- Record the number of guests served by each service team.
- Assist in setting the dining room, clearing and resetting tables, and refilling water glasses as directed by management.
- Assist service staff in delivering alcoholic beverages if 21 years of age or older and TIPS/SIPS certified.
- Monitor that the proper sequence of service is completed for all guests.
- Display knowledge and compliance with Utah liquor laws.
- Ensure the restaurant is clean and organized at all times, supporting the recycling program.
- Complete cleaning and closing responsibilities as directed by management.
- Handle a variety of situations in a positive and professional manner.
- Maintain a positive attitude when speaking about guests, fellow employees, and management.
- Communicate effectively with managers, chefs, team members, and guests.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of related restaurant experience and/or training.
- Professional demeanor and strong communication skills.
- High personal cleanliness standards.
- Two years of food service experience in a full-service restaurant.
- Prior guest relations experience.
- Knowledge and experience with wine, liquors, and beer.
- Proficiency in Resy reservation software or ability to learn.
- Computer proficiency in Windows, Word, WordPerfect, Excel, and related programs.
- Current food handlers permit (or obtain within 30 days of employment).
- Current alcohol serving permit (or obtain within 30 days of employment).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be 21 years of age or older to serve alcohol.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and taste or smell.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
Pay
$13.00/hour + tips
Schedule
- Part-time, year-round position.
- Monday through Sunday, variable shifts; must be flexible.
- Must be available weekends and holidays.
- Shifts typically run from 4:00 PM to close (approximately 10:00 PM).
