Host - Eataly Flatiron

About the role

As a Host at Eataly, you are the first and last point of contact with guests at one of our restaurants. You are responsible for greeting, seating, and saying goodbye to guests while maintaining the flow of the restaurant during service. You will diligently and efficiently manage seating in Eataly’s restaurants and oversee the general functioning of the dining room during meal service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an accurate, fair, and up-to-date waitlist and seating chart using a computerized system
• Take and manage reservations in restaurants that allow reservations
• Balance guest flow among service stations, considering requests for particular tables or servers based on availability
• Inform guests when tables are ready, escort them to their table, provide menus, and introduce the server
• Assist with the duties of servers and bus persons as needed to maintain service effectiveness and efficiency
• Relay information to managers and service personnel during meal service
• Perform other duties as required or assigned

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in a high-volume restaurant
• Basic computer skills
• Excellent communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule, often including evenings and weekends
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending, and squatting

Pay

The base pay for this position is $17–$20 per hour plus tips.
