Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet and seat guests at appropriate tables in a timely manner, providing menus and occasionally taking drink orders as the guests wait for their server.
• Be attentive of guests’ needs and assist in providing a pleasant dining experience.
• Afford assistance to the cashier in collecting cash or credit cards from guests and servers as needed.
• Pay out servers’ and service attendants’ tips if appropriate.
• Properly take reservations as well as room service orders.
• Ensure quality control of menus with regard to cleanliness and appearance.
• Perform opening and closing duties according to established side work.
• Answer all phone calls according to standards.
• Maintain knowledge of menus and current or daily specials.
• Adhere to all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working area along with awareness of all sanitary practices.
• Support other staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Adhere to safety and quality regulations.
• Handle guest complaints and solve problems to the degree possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of host and customer service experience required, hospitality industry preferred.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, or scheduled form.
• Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English in order to communicate with guests and team members.
• Knowledge of reservation and POS systems.
• Ability to work with computers and good knowledge of operating software preferred.
• Must be able to multi-task and be detail oriented.
• Must be a team player.
