About the role

ERDT/SHARE! is a global non‑profit educational foundation that has been providing international student exchange services to host families and international teens since 1974. The SHARE! High School Exchange Program seeks caring individuals and families to host international exchange students for a semester or a full school year. Students (ages 14‑18) come from countries such as France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, Japan, South Korea, China, Brazil, Mexico, and many others. They are eager to experience American family life, attend a local high school, become a true member of your family while sharing their own culture and traditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, stable home environment for the exchange student.
• Include the student in daily family life and support their integration into the local high school.
• Encourage cultural exchange by sharing your own traditions and learning about the student’s culture.
• Ensure the student has meals, transportation, and general support as needed.

Requirements

• A caring heart and a welcoming attitude toward hosting an international teen.
• A stable home suitable for hosting a student for a semester or full academic year.
• Willingness to welcome the student into your family and support their experience.

Qualifications

No prior hosting experience is required. The program welcomes two‑parent families (with or without children), single parents, single adults, retired couples, and empty nesters.
