Host an International High School Exchange Student (Johnson City, TN)
About the role
SHARE! High School Exchange Program is seeking caring individuals and families to host international exchange students for a semester or a full school year. Students are 14–18 years old and come from countries including France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, Japan, South Korea, China, Brazil, Mexico, and many others.
Our students are excited to experience American family life, attend their local high school, and become a true member of your family while sharing their own culture and traditions.
Responsibilities
- Welcome an international exchange student into your home and family life
- Provide a stable, caring environment for the duration of the student’s stay
- Support the student’s integration into your local high school and community
Requirements
- Caring heart and willingness to welcome a student into your family
- Stable home environment
Qualifications
Every SHARE! student:
- Speaks English
- Has comprehensive medical insurance
- Has spending money for personal expenses
- Is carefully screened and selected before arriving in the United States
About the organization
ERDT/SHARE! is a global non-profit educational foundation that has been providing international student exchange services to host families and international teens since 1974.
We welcome:

There is no "perfect" host family—if you meet the basic requirements, you may be the perfect host.
