Host an International High School Exchange Student (Fort Bend County, TX)

About the role

SHARE! High School Exchange Program is seeking caring individuals and families to host international exchange students for a semester or a full school year.

Responsibilities

• Experience the world without leaving home by hosting an international student from countries such as France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, Japan, South Korea, China, Brazil, Mexico, and more.
• Host a student who speaks English, has comprehensive medical insurance, and brings spending money for personal expenses.
• Be part of a program that screens and selects students before they arrive in the United States.
• Welcome a student into your family, allowing them to experience American family life, attend their local high school, and share their own culture and traditions.

Requirements

• Two-parent families (with or without children), single parents, single adults, retired couples, or empty nesters are all welcome.
• Have a caring heart, a stable home, and a willingness to welcome a student into your family.

Qualifications

• No "perfect" host family is required; any family willing to open their home to an international student is considered.

Skills

• Caring and welcoming personality
• Ability to adapt to new cultural experiences
• Good communication skills
