Host an International High School Exchange Student (Collin County, TX)

About the role

SHARE! High School Exchange Program is seeking caring individuals and families to host international exchange students for a semester or a full school year.

Responsibilities

• Experience the world without leaving home by hosting an international student from countries like France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, Japan, South Korea, China, Brazil, Mexico, and more.
• Host a student who speaks English, has comprehensive medical insurance, and brings spending money for personal expenses.
• Be part of a student's journey as they immerse themselves in American family life, attend their local high school, and share their own culture and traditions.
• Welcome a student into your family, regardless of whether you are a two-parent family, single parent, single adult, retired couple, or empty nester.

• Have a stable home.
• Be willing to welcome a student into your family.

Qualifications

• Available to host a student for a semester or a full school year.
• Willing to provide a safe and welcoming environment for the student.
• Capable of managing the student's daily needs and activities.

Skills

• Patience and flexibility.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the student and SHARE! staff.

Pay

No pay is provided for hosting a student.

Schedule

Hosts are expected to provide accommodation and support during the student's stay, typically for one semester (approximately 4 months) or a full school year (approximately 10 months).
