Host an International High School Exchange Student (Broward County, FL)

About the role

SHARE! High School Exchange Program is seeking caring individuals and families to host international exchange students for a semester or a full school year.

Responsibilities

• Experience the world without leaving home by opening your home to a high school exchange student.
• Host a student who is 14–18 years old and comes from countries including France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, Japan, South Korea, China, Brazil, Mexico, and many others.
• Be part of a student's cultural exchange by sharing your own culture and traditions.
• Provide a safe and welcoming environment for the student to live and study.
• Ensure the student has comprehensive medical insurance and spending money for personal expenses.
• Participate in regular check-ins and activities to support the student's integration into your family and community.

Requirements

• Have a caring heart and a willingness to welcome a student into your family.
• Have a stable home environment suitable for hosting an international student.
• Be willing to provide meals, housing, and transportation as needed.
• Be available to host the student for a semester or a full school year.
• Be able to communicate effectively in English.

Pay

No pay is provided for hosting a SHARE! student. However, the program offers a variety of benefits to both the host family and the student.
