About the role

The Little Nell is a luxury hotel in Aspen, Colorado, offering a range of services including personalized service, gourmet dining, and spa facilities. The position is located within the restaurant and involves welcoming guests, seating them, and managing the restaurant's operational flow.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming guests on arrival and seating them promptly
• Communicating with guests about wait times and addressing their needs
• Managing the seating chart to ensure fair allocation of tables among servers
• Assisting with clearing and resetting tables as needed
• Aiding in the bar area by stocking and cleaning condiments
• Assisting with restaurant-side tasks to prepare for service
• Answering phone calls to provide wait times, manage reservations, and address basic resort questions
• Participating in daily cleaning operations, including bathroom checks, mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming
• Assisting as a server, food runner, or busser if needed
• Performing snow removal duties as required by specific restaurant needs

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Ability to communicate and follow oral or written directions in English is required
• High School graduate preferred, with TIPS Certification preferred
• Proficient in guest service principles and best practices
• Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office or POS systems
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and food allergies
• Understanding of reservation systems and seating management
• Knowledge of menu offerings, specials, and promotions
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

• Work Environment & Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, walk on slippery and uneven surfaces, and lift up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance.
