Your Purpose
As the Hospitality Attendant for Brightline, you will be responsible for warmly welcoming guests and ensuring exceptional service. You will oversee the preparation and service of food and beverages in the Premium Lounge, Order to Seat/QR To-Go, Smart Lounge, and for bar guests. Additionally, you will champion food safety and sanitation protocols, assist with inventory management, and collaborate with the station manager to order necessary items for the operation.

Your Role
- Guest Interaction: Welcome Guests with Enthusiasm and Care: Genuinely welcome guests with a warm smile and a sincere greeting, engaging in conversation when appropriate. Use the 10/5/First/Last rule to make every impression positive and memorable. Anticipatory Service: Listen and respond to guests’ questions, requests, or complaints promptly, solving as many as you can now or communicating with others as appropriate. Attentive Service: Provide attentive and detailed service to all guests; use suggestive selling techniques when referring to menu options and retail offerings and cordially share information about our Company services and destinations. Act as Brand Ambassador: Take ownership of each and every guest. Be yourself and spontaneous, avoid confusing the guests with slang or hospitality jargon. Show a genuine sense of interest and care to guest challenges and offer appropriate resolutions as per the policies.
- Food And Beverage Service Preparation and Service: Prepare and serve hot and cold food, beverages and snacks adhering to Company standards; ensure guests are satisfied with their selections and engage in friendly conversation throughout. Serve alcoholic beverages adhering to Company established standards, including visually checking and verifying proper identification. Presenting Menus: Present menus, serve, and help customers select food/beverages. Serving and delivery of food: Serve food to guests at guest specific location and deliver food to dedicated pick-up location. Restocking: Continually prepare and restock all items and serve guests in a timely manner. POS: Become knowledgeable on the Point-of Sales system and utilize the devices to place orders and collect payments. Offering Alternatives: Whenever you cannot fulfill a guest request, offer relevant options for the guest to choose from. Be knowledgeable of seating options; take the opportunity to upsell when appropriate. Service Recovery: When a guest is dissatisfied with a product or service, demonstrate empathy and offer solutions that best address the guest's needs. Offer food and beverage to guests using guest recovery carts when trains are delayed.
- Quality And Safety: Quality Check: Visually check that the quality of products meets established standards; clean, remove or fix items that do not. Time and Temperature Logs: Record accurate time and temperature logs at established intervals to ensure freshness. Cleanliness: Clean service and work areas to adhere to Company health and hygiene standards.
- Inventory and Maintenance: Inventory Management: Review inventory upon receipt of deliveries, store the items appropriately and document final inventory. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all equipment is in working order and is prepared for the next shift and report all maintenance issues promptly to the Station Supervisor or Manager. Work Area Maintenance: Ensure the Bar, Premium lounge, and all work areas are clean, presentable, and free of hazards.
- Teamwork Information Transfer: Communicate with teammates to ensure the timely and detailed transference of information. Assistance with Inventory: Assist the Station Manager with inventory of food and beverage items as required. Proactive Reporting: Have a proactive approach in reporting maintenance and operational issues as encountered. All is One: Actively support your fellow coworkers to achieve success as a team. Collaborate with other servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff.
- Grooming Guidelines: Follow All Grooming Guidelines: Your uniform is your business card. Maintain a polished appearance and greet all guests with enthusiasm and energy.
- Miscellaneous: Monitor and review all Brightline communication channels, including our company intranet and bConnected, during work hours to ensure all company and department communications and notifications are promptly reviewed.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Natural person, comfortable with retail, food, and beverage sales.
- Sounding judgment, thinking and acting independently, expressing clear and effective verbal communication skills to interact with guests and other teammates to ensure exceptional guest service.
- Prior experience working in a food and beverage establishment.
- Standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, and being on your feet for hours on end is something you embrace and can do.
- When a problem arises, you find yourself being able to produce a timely solution.
- Loving keeping busy at work and being conscious of safe food handling practices.
- No specific vision requirements.
- At least 18 years old.
- Can work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Work Environment
Works in a clean, air-conditioned office space, free of noise, dust, and humidity.
