Responsibilities
- Serves meals to patients and visitors in a professional and efficient manner.
- Serves as a point of contact for patients regarding meal and menu practices.
- Obtains meal preferences and selections from patients, if applicable.
- Replenishes floor stock items in nursing unit pantries and delivers enteral formulas for patients to nursing units.
- Performs other tasks as related to patient meal service as assigned.
- Adheres to safe food handling procedures.
- Adheres to the Values in Practice initiatives.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED
- One (1) year experience in hospital or healthcare experience preferred
- One (1) year experience in food service operation preferred
- One (1) year experience in customer service preferred
Knowledge, Skill and Ability
- Ability to read and write English: follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate
- Ability to tell time and read a clock
- Ability to perform basic Math functions
- Good communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Must possess or have ability to learn basic computer skills
Working Conditions
- Exposed to hazards from electrical/mechanical/power equipment
- Exposed to housekeeping/cleaning agents/chemicals
- Subject to hazards of flammable, explosive gases
- Subject to burns and cuts
- Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
