This role serves as a pathway to becoming a Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA), with training and skills development provided. Hospitality Aides work as an integral part of the nursing support department to ensure residents receive proper care promoting good health and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Answer call lights and relay messages to Charge Nurse/GNA as appropriate
  • Return carts to the dietary department at mealtimes
  • Fill water pitchers
  • Hand out trays at mealtimes
  • Assist with diversional activities
  • Clean diet kitchen, including the refrigerator
  • Straighten utility rooms
  • Clean oxygen concentrators, feeding pumps, and IV poles as needed
  • Straighten closets and bedside tables as needed
  • Move resident items when room changes are made
  • Clean wheelchairs as needed
  • Set up trays for residents who feed themselves
  • Make resident beds
  • Practice infection control and standard precaution techniques consistent with FutureCare’s policies and procedures

Upon successful completion of Hospitality Aide training, you will receive:

  • Guaranteed entry into one of our accredited training centers for a 4-8 week CNA training program
  • On-site hands-on clinical skills training in your last week of training
  • CNA certification upon successful completion of the training
  • Ability to take the GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) exam

Requirements

  • Full-time work schedule on the 3pm-11pm shift with a shift differential and pay increase
  • Career Growth Ladder available after obtaining your GNA license, offering opportunities to advance to Certified Medication Aide (CMA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN) through ongoing training and support
  • Ability to comply with assigned schedule and adhere to daily assignments
  • Neat appearance in appropriate assigned uniform; identification name tag must be worn at all times
  • Professional, courteous, and tactful interaction with nursing staff, residents, and family members
  • Availability to work when scheduled, including one weekend day
  • Ability to successfully complete a 90-day probationary period

Pay

Competitive starting pay of $17.00 per hour. The salary reflects the potential base pay range for this role, with bonuses or other incentives offered separately pursuant to relevant program schedules.
