Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO) – Inpatient
Description

Eastern Shawnee Staffing Services, in partnership with Indian Health Services (IHS), is seeking an experienced Hospitalist Physician for a 1099 contract assignment at Hopi Health Care Center. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who enjoys inpatient medicine and providing comprehensive care to patients in a close-knit community.
What You'll Do
- Provide inpatient medical care to hospitalized patients.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Perform patient assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Manage admissions, daily rounding, and patient care coordination.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging studies.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited residency program
- Minimum of 2–3 years of inpatient hospitalist experience preferred
- Must be a U.S. citizen living primarily in the United States
- Must be able to pass a federal security clearance
- Active, unrestricted MD or DO license (any U.S. state accepted)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in appropriate specialty
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills
- Previous IHS experience preferred
- Experience with EHR systems required
- Required immunizations must be up to date
