About the role
West Virginia University Health System (SMG) seeks a Hospitalist Medical Director. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Gassaway, WV.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of the Hospitalist program at Braxton County Memorial Hospital
- Ensuring patients receive the highest quality treatment
- Making recommendations for staffing related to the appropriate delivery of clinical care
- Providing efficient consultation services for Braxton patients
- Streamlining clinical processes
- Maintaining appropriate clinical treatment protocols
- Maintaining high levels of patient satisfaction and patient safety
- Maintaining quality metrics as established by WVUHS to ensure appropriate outcome measures
- Working closely with physicians, administration, nursing, and technical staff to maintain excellent clinical care/operations
- Organizing the development of new clinical programs and innovations to continue to provide the latest clinical technologies and service
Requirements
- Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain a West Virginia medical license
- Successful candidate must have completed Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency program
- Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
