Hospitalist

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care including admissions, daily rounds, consultations, and discharges for hospitalized adult patients.
• Cook up patient care with specialists, nursing teams, case management, and ancillary staff to ensure high-quality and efficient care delivery.
• Collaborate with emergency department physicians regarding admissions and patient management.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and discharge planning to support optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record system.
• Support clinical quality initiatives, patient safety programs, and system-wide protocols aligned with the standards of Prime Healthcare.
• Coverage across the three hospital campuses as part of an integrated hospitalist team.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Eligible for or able to obtain a Maine medical license.
• Active DEA registration.
• Strong clinical, communication, and collaborative skills.
