Hospital Service Operator
About the role
We are seeking a reliable and professional Customer Service Representative to support hospitals, physician offices, and healthcare clinics in a fast-paced healthcare communications environment. This role involves handling inbound calls, identifying appropriate on-call providers, and routing urgent patient and medical staff communications. The ideal candidate is a quick learner with excellent attendance, strong communication skills, and a proven track record of reliability.
Responsibilities
- Handle high-volume inbound calls from patients, hospitals, and medical practices.
- Determine on-call providers and accurately route calls using internal databases and established protocols.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while managing sensitive healthcare-related communications.
- Maintain productivity and service-level standards in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate professionally with patients, medical staff, and internal teams.
Schedule
- Fully onsite position with a second-shift schedule of 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
- Must be available to work every Saturday, with scheduled days off during the week.
- Schedules are provided 3-4 weeks in advance.
- Position is considered essential and requires availability during holidays and inclement weather.
- Training is conducted onsite and attendance is mandatory throughout the 2-3 week training period.
Requirements
- Customer service experience required; call center experience preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare setting (hospital, medical practice, clinic, or health center) strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, phone etiquette, and data entry skills.
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to learn quickly.
- Demonstrated job stability and excellent attendance record.
- Medical terminology knowledge is a plus.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
