Hospital Security Officer Foot Patrol-Part Time
About the role
Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and support patients, visitors, and staff with outstanding customer service and communication.
Responsibilities
- Perform security patrols of hospital grounds on foot or in vehicle; document detailed observations of unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
- Assist hospital staff with de-escalation of situations involving patients; restrain combative individuals as necessary (within company and customer guidelines)
- Transport patients to the morgue, as needed
- Auxiliary tasks include escorting patients from helicopter pad (high elevation) to the emergency room, assisting with evacuations during fires, medical emergencies, and natural disasters, sounding alarms or calling police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons, warning violators of rule infractions, ensuring only authorized individuals enter and exit the hospital, and investigating and preparing reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities
- Maintain written logs as required
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Must be comfortable with morgue duty
- Must be comfortable restraining combative individuals when necessary (within company/customer guidelines)
- Must be willing to receive a TB test and certain vaccinations if required
- Must be at least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state
- Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Must have demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
- Must have effective oral and written communication skills
- Must have problem solving skills
- Must have active listening skills
- Must be able to assess and evaluate situations effectively; identify critical issues quickly and accurately
- Must be able to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
- Must write informatively, clearly, and accurately
- Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable employment history relating customer service or the protective service industry (preferably security, healthcare, military, law enforcement, or corrections)
- Must be comfortable carrying a taser on post
- Must have 6+ months security experience
