Hospital Reference Test Clerk

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for various analysis and testing
• Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and specimen problems
• Send test requests to proper location and release test results
• Absorb and process specimens to be sent out to additional facilities
• Support various areas of the laboratory
• Perform sample sorting, racking, and retrieving
• Prepare record logs in a timely and efficient manner
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Minimum Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent
• 6 months or more specimen processing
• 6 months or more in a Clinical, Hospital, or Research Lab
• An Associate's Degree in Biology or Chemistry

• Comfortable with handling biological specimens
• Accuracy in identifying specimens
• Basic computer and data entry skills

• Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Pay Range

$21.65 to $28.00 hourly
