About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Consulting Hospital Practice Coordinator to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare front office operations, including registration, scheduling, insurance verification, authorizations, referrals, and familiarity with Epic/APeX workflows in a high-volume outpatient or hospital environment. The role demands excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently manage calendars, schedule appointments and meetings, and ensure smooth operation of day-to-day administrative tasks.
- Handle patient registration and scheduling, ensuring all necessary information is accurately collected and recorded.
- Verify patient insurance and obtain necessary authorizations for services.
- Process referrals and work closely with other healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.
- Manage front desk operations, including answering phones, greeting patients, and managing patient flow.
- Maintain patient files, ensuring all records are up-to-date and accurately filed.
- Use Epic/APeX systems to manage workflows, track patient information, and ensure efficient operation of the practice.
- Handle invoicing, expense management, and other financial tasks as required.
- Work independently with minimal training, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years of direct healthcare front office experience.
- Prior experience as a Practice Coordinator, Patient Care Coordinator, Patient Service Representative, Patient Access Representative, Unit Clerk, or Medical Receptionist.
- Strong proficiency in Epic/APeX systems.
- Experience with high-volume patient interaction, front desk, and phone management.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal training.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with leasing, invoicing, and managing expenses.
- Candidates with demonstrated longevity in healthcare administrative roles will be given preference.
- Experience registering 60+ patients daily and working in a high-volume outpatient or hospital environment.
- Proven experience with insurance verification and authorizations.
- Previous experience working with work queues (WQs).
- Prior hospital and outpatient clinic experience is a plus.
