Job Summary
Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at Starr City Hospital and is currently recruiting for a PRN Pharmacy Technician. Hours of the facility are Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM and Saturday & Sunday from 8AM-12PM.
Responsibilities
- Assists pharmacists in filling prescription orders as permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
- Prepares medication for dispensing, packaging and shipment.
- Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves and removes out of date items from the inventory.
- Enters medical supply orders in pharmacy system.
- Communicates with all customers (patients, clinics, care-givers, physicians) in an amicable and professional manner.
- Processes returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction.
- Inputs patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system.
- Maintains knowledge of and abides by all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- A high school degree or equivalent is preferred.
- A State Pharmacy Technician license/registration or tech-in-training license is required.
- A national pharmacy technician certification if applicable is preferred.
- IV experience is preferred.
- In-patient hospital pharmacy experience is highly preferred.
- Flexibility in working schedule is required.
- The ability to work in a group is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- A comfort level performing repetitive motions/tasks is required.
- The ability to manage several tasks at the same time is required.
- The ability to evaluate operating conditions is required.
- The ability to exercise sound judgment is required.
- A demonstrated ability to use technology such as computers, smart phones and tablets is required.
- May require vendor credentialing.

Pay
Anticipated hourly range: $16.40 per hour - $21.15 per hour.
