Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards.
• Supervise and direct pharmacy staff in key operational areas including scheduling, purchasing, and clinical responsibilities.
• Collaborate with pharmacy management to implement efficient daily operations and quality improvement or cost containment strategies.
• Provide clinical and technical support to pharmacy and regional staff, fostering a team-based care model.
• Respond promptly and accurately to pharmaceutical inquiries from customers and internal staff, interpreting clinical needs and providing expert advice.
• Maintain comprehensive patient records, including medical history, lab data, and concurrent medications (including OTC and alternative therapies).
• Accurately document all communications with healthcare providers, patients, and caregivers in the pharmacy system.
• Secure and maintain necessary documentation to ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and corporate policies.
• Enforce safe practices for the procurement, storage, distribution, and disposal of medications and biological products.
• Document all communications and clinical interventions in the patient’s medical record, including interactions with families and caregivers.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the pharmacy team and patient care goals.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (BPharm or equivalent), Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of practice, Demonstrated pharmacy experience, In-depth knowledge of pharmacy laws and both federal and state regulations related to long-term care, Familiarity with pharmaceutical care practices for long-term care residents, Proficiency in computer use, including pharmacy management systems.
• Desired: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
• Experience in long-term care pharmacy settings
