What You Will Do
- Professionally and courteously answering all incoming calls, routing them to the appropriate department or individual.
- Offering general information about the hospital, such as visiting hours, location, and services provided, to callers.
- Accurately recording and relaying messages to hospital staff, ensuring important information is communicated in a timely manner.
- Responding to emergency situations and code calls, coordinating with the appropriate personnel and ensuring that urgent information is relayed promptly.
- Helping callers who may be in distress, demonstrating empathy and professionalism when dealing with sensitive situations.
- Using hospital communication systems, such as telephone, paging, and intercom systems, effectively and troubleshooting any technical issues.
- Adhering to hospital policies and protocols, including patient privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA), to maintain compliance and confidentiality.
- Providing excellent customer service by addressing caller inquiries and concerns in a friendly and helpful manner.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- One Year Experience in a telephone operator or customer service role, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting required.
