Hospital Housekeeper - Evening Shift - Part-Time

About the role

We are looking for a Janitor or Custodian for the evening shift to ensure all areas of the hospital are properly covered and cleaning tasks are carried out effectively.

Responsibilities

• Directly responsible for cleaning all Operating Suites, including equipment.
• Follow established housekeeping guidelines.
• Bag and handle infectious waste according to established guidelines.
• Follow proper procedures regarding exposure to Category I tasks.
• Follow proper procedures for handling hazardous waste materials.
• Follow written or oral instructions.
• Work well with others and present a neat appearance and pleasant manner.
• Daily cleaning and maintenance of the OR storage room where cleaning supplies are kept.

Requirements

• Demonstrates a good knowledge of housekeeping and guidelines for infectious waste.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to stand and/or walk at least five hours per day.
• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 55 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to push/pull up to 55 pounds on a regular basis.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work (not all sites are accessible via SEPTA).
• Pre-employment drug screening test required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Janitor in a hospital is a plus.
• Healthcare facilities cleaning experience preferred.

Occupational Exposure

• Category I exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
• Frequent exposure to chemical hazards.
• May encounter radiation hazards.

Pay

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
