Hospital Driver - Courier

About the Role

Drives hospital vehicle on daily scheduled and unscheduled trips to and from outpatient laboratory facilities, physician's offices, and other locations to pick up and deliver laboratory specimens, reports, and supplies.

Completes deliveries thoroughly and efficiently using available specimen handling procedures, schedules, checklists, and client-specific instructions. Contacts Manager if delivery or pickup is not completed. Assigns priorities in the event of multiple requests and reports any problems for timely resolution.

Handles pickup and delivery for other hospital departments such as Materials Management (interdepartmental mail), Radiology (films), Cardiology (holter monitor readings), and Urgent Care (cash). May transport medical waste.

Answers client questions and accommodates requests where possible, or refers them to a Manager, Section Leader, or Client Representative.

Schedule

• Full time: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
• Part time: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Requirements

• Valid Michigan Driver’s License
• Basic skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic
• No previous experience required
