Vitalant is seeking a Hospital Distribution Technician dedicated to making a positive difference. You will support Vitalant's life-saving mission by managing the inventory of blood and blood products and facilitate the packaging and shipment to local hospitals and patients. Responsibilities
- Receive, prepare, and ship routing, ASAP, and STAT orders of blood and blood products, conducting a visual inspection of each product prior to shipment to ensure order accuracy.
- During On-Call hours, fulfill STAT or ASAP orders that a hospital needs for a patient, and contact the courier to transport the blood to the hospital.
- Communicate with hospital customers regarding order fulfillment, turnaround times, and product availability.
- Use great attention-to-detail when processing orders, entering inventory, as well as entering data for orders to be shipped and/or received.
- Maintain accurate hospital service records for transactions and process fees.
- Monitor all storage requirements, service equipment, and vehicle work areas.
- Presently, this role does not drive — that could change in the near future, and if needed to make a blood delivery, you may need to drive to local hospitals.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- Valid in-state driver's license
- Six months of customer service experience required
- Prior healthcare industry experience preferred
- Able to lift 40 lbs
Schedule
Mon–Fri 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm (Part-Time Hours + On-Call Rotation 1 week per month)
Pay
Starting Pay: $17.09 – $18.27 (Based on Experience)
