Responsibilities

- Ensures the appropriate preparation and dispersal of medications in accordance with facility, state, and national laws and regulations
- Assures compliance with HIPAA, DNV, OSHA and other state and federal regulations guiding healthcare
- Adheres to policies and procedures of UPH-DM
- Prioritizes the importance of preventing errors, accidents, and infections within the workplace and reports potential or actual concerns immediately
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with equivalent clinical hospital experience required
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred
- Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 pharmacy residency or equivalent experience required
- PGY-2 or equivalent experience preferred for specialty areas
- Experience: Proficiency in navigating the electronic medical record
- One or more years of hospital pharmacy experience required
Qualifications
- License(s)/Certification(s): Iowa Pharmacist license in good standing or eligible for licensure
- Must attain a license to practice Pharmacy in Iowa within six months of employment
- Must be directly supervised by a licensed pharmacist until Iowa Pharmacist license is obtained
- Maintains current license to practice pharmacy in Iowa and be in good standing with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners
- Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
