HOSPITAL BILLING CLERK I - OAHU
Duties Summary
Participates in computing, adjusting and preparing bills involving pro-rata charges for a variety of services and to a variety of payers as a primary assignment; while performing other related duties as assigned.
Determines and verifies charges to a variety of medical insurance plans, prepares bills to insurers and/or patients; and checks the status of a patient's medical plan for verification.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
- Legal Authorization To Work: Citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
- General Experience: One (1) year of work experience which demonstrated the ability to perform arithmetic computations, compare names and numbers rapidly and accurately, and read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Specialized Experience: One (1) year of progressively responsible work experience which involved the computation and preparation of bills and demonstrated knowledge of office practices and procedures, operation of common office appliances and equipment, billing methods and procedures, and the ability to interpret and apply billing regulations and policies.
