About the role

Heartstrings Pet Hospice provides gentle, in‑home hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families. As a Compassionate Veterinarian you will practice medicine at a pace that allows you to be fully present, sitting on living‑room floors, answering difficult questions with kindness, and helping families say goodbye with dignity and peace. You’ll work independently on the road while receiving ongoing training, mentorship, and support from a team that values your well‑being.

Responsibilities

• Provide in‑home hospice care and euthanasia services
• Spend quality time with pets and families, listening, explaining, and honoring each pet’s story
• Maintain a calm, unhurried environment with no double‑booking or rushed goodbyes
• Offer emotional support and guidance to grieving families
• Participate in onboarding, one‑on‑one mentorship, and team support as needed

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD/BVMS)
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 90 lbs with assistance
• Availability to work 4 weekend days per month (self‑selected)
• Completion of license verification, background check, and driving record review prior to start date
