About the role

Heartstrings Pet Hospice provides gentle hospice and in-home euthanasia care to families in the comfort of their own homes, allowing pets to spend their final moments on a favorite blanket surrounded by loved ones. We are looking for a compassionate veterinarian who wants to practice medicine that matters, without the pace and pressure of a traditional clinic. Here you will sit on living room floors, answer hard questions with kindness, and help families say goodbye with dignity and peace. You’ll practice independently on the road but never be on your own—our team invests in your training, growth, and well‑being from day one.

Responsibilities

• Provide in‑home hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families.
• Sit with families in their homes, answer difficult questions with compassion, and support dignified goodbyes.
• Practice independently while maintaining access to team support and mentorship.
• Manage a mobile practice, traveling to client homes across the Denver metro area.
• Choose a work schedule that fits your life (2–5 days per week).
• Select the four weekend days per month that work best for you.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD/BVMS) degree.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 90 lbs with assistance.
• Successful completion of license verification, background check, and driving record review prior to start date.

Pay

• 5‑day full‑time: $110,000 base salary + generous quarterly bonus opportunities.
• 4‑day full‑time: starting at $135,500 base salary + generous quarterly bonus opportunities.
• 2‑ and 3‑day full‑time & self‑managed part‑time: prorated compensation based on schedule, with self‑managed scheduling option available.
