Hospice Registered Nurse

About the role

Hospice nursing offers autonomy and independence, allowing you to work in the field visiting patients in various facilities and homes. This role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for individuals facing terminal illness and their loved ones. As a Full Time RN Case Manager in the Columbia, MO area, you'll spend most of your day driving to see patients within a set geographical area, with occasional office meetings. The position offers a blend of autonomy and teamwork.

We can accommodate part time or PRN schedules if needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe assessments and provide symptom management and skilled care to patients facing terminal illnesses.
• Offer emotional support and education on death and dying to patients and their families.
• Supervise LPNs and CNAs, monitor medication lists, and assess the appropriateness of medications.
• Evaluate and address durable medical equipment (DME) needs.
• Provide wound care and other necessary treatments.
• Visit patients in private homes, assisted living facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and other locations where patients reside.

Requirements

• Current RN license in the State of Missouri.
• Live within a commutable distance to the office in Columbia, MO.
• A compassionate and loving demeanor, essential for supporting patients and families during terminal illness.
• Ability to work as a team player and represent the company positively in the community.
• Proficiency with computers and smartphones for EMR charting, email, and mileage computation apps.
• Reliable transportation and car insurance.

Pay

Hourly rate plus mileage reimbursement, with a recent company-wide increase.

Schedule

Offices are open Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.
