Hospice Music Therapist - Part Time

About the role

The Ecumen Hospice North Branch is hiring a Music Therapist to primarily serve patients in the Hinkley, Sandstone, Cambridge, and North Branch areas. The position involves providing music therapy under the direction of the Clinical Director, addressing patients' unique needs, and managing a caseload.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients for appropriate medical indications for service and performs assessments to determine the effectiveness of therapy.
• Directs and assists patients through music therapy interventions to alleviate symptoms such as anxiety, depression, isolation, agitation, restlessness, sleeplessness, pain, tension, relaxation, and comfort.
• Provides ongoing education to the clinical team regarding the appropriateness and contraindications for treatment.
• Maintains necessary records, including clinical notes, charting, coordination notes, and updates these records within 24 hours of sessions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from an accredited music therapy program.
• Current MT-BC certification from the Certification Board for Music Therapists.
• Valid Drivers License, proof of insurance, and satisfactory motor vehicle record.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
• Follows all safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the facility, including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident’s Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of clinical music therapy experience in home health or hospice or senior care is preferred.

Skills

• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a caseload.
• Knowledge of music therapy techniques and their applications in healthcare settings.

Pay

The targeted pay range for this job is $28.00 - $32.00 per hour. Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.

Schedule

48hrs bi-weekly - Part-Time Shifts on weekdays between 8a-4:30p. Must work every other Tuesday. No Weekends or Holidays!
