About the role

Phoenix Home Care & Hospice is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead their Hospice team in Overland Park, KS. The ideal candidate will provide leadership and oversight of all hospice clinical services, ensure quality patient care, supervise and mentor clinical staff, and manage medical supplies and resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of all hospice clinical services in the Overland Park area
  • Ensure quality patient care through planning, implementation, and evaluation of services
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop clinical staff
  • Conduct chart audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and CHAP standards
  • Identify and evaluate patient care needs
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
  • Absorb and complete patient visits as needed
  • Manage medical supplies and clinical resources
  • Ensure all hospice operations remain compliant with federal, state, and accreditation standards

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of two years of experience in hospice or skilled home health leadership
  • Knowledge of hospice regulations, business operations, and CHAP standards
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
  • Ability to build relationships with patients, families, referral partners, and the community
  • Positive attitude, self-confidence, and a passion for leading others
