Job Summary

Cherish Hospice is seeking an experienced part time Hospice Biller to manage billing operations and ensure accurate, timely claim processing.

Hospice Biller Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently process hospice claims for payment, ensuring compliance with regulations and insurance provider requirements
• Upload Notice of Election (NOE) and Notice of Termination/Revocation (NOTR) to Medicare in accordance with regulatory timelines
• Review and correct billing errors, maintaining a high level of attention to detail and ensuring timely follow-up with payers
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical information and billing data
• Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate billing for services rendered
• Stay up-to-date with changes in billing regulations, coding guidelines, and industry standards
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to optimize billing processes and improve patient outcomes

Hospice Biller Requirements

• 3 years of experience in hospice medical billing
• Experience as a multi-state Hospice Biller strongly preferred, with working knowledge of billing requirements and payer variations across multiple states
• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in medical billing or a related field a plus
• Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HIPAA regulations
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinical staff and payers
