Hospice Associate Medical Director
About the role
As our Associate Medical Director, you'll provide clinical leadership and physician oversight that shapes the quality of care our patients and families receive every day. This role goes beyond bedside medicine—you'll partner with our Medical Director and interdisciplinary team to set the clinical standard for hospice care across Northern Indiana.
You'll provide clinical leadership throughout Northern Indiana, supporting patients and their care teams in homes, assisted living facilities, long-term care facilities, and hospitals—wherever they feel most comfortable.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Medical Director to guide a multidisciplinary team of RNs, LPNs, Aides, Social Workers, and Chaplains in delivering personalized, patient-centered care
- Certify and recertify terminal prognosis, participate in interdisciplinary group (IDG) meetings, and provide face-to-face encounters as required
- Provide expert guidance on pain and symptom management, and support care plans that prioritize dignity and quality of life
- Build trusting relationships with patients, families, and referring physicians during life's most vulnerable moments
- Support regulatory and documentation standards that keep our agency's clinical care above reproach
- Serve as a clinical resource for hospice staff, helping build clinical judgment and confidence across the care team
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Indiana Medical License (MD or DO)
- Board Certification in a relevant specialty
- Valid Driver's License
- Current DEA registration
- 1+ years hospice or palliative care experience
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Hospice and Palliative Medicine (HPM) Board Certification
- Prior experience in a hospice medical director or associate medical director role
