About the role

The Hospice Aide provides personal care, assistance with performing activities of daily living and prescribed therapeutic exercises, and basic housekeeping services essential to the comfort and cleanliness of receiving home care or hospice services. These services are specified by a written plan of care that is developed and supervised by a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care to patients as per the plan of care
  • Assist with activities of daily living
  • Perform prescribed therapeutic exercises
  • Carry out basic housekeeping tasks
  • Ensure the cleanliness and comfort of the patient’s living environment

Requirements

  • Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant course or equivalent training
  • Nursing Assistant Certification License from the state where care will be provided
  • One year of home health/hospice experience as a nurse’s aide, hospice aide, orderly, or related experience in an acute, rehabilitative, or long-term care facility, or hospice organization or private home care aide

Qualifications

Required qualifications include:

  • Coursework/Training: Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant course or equivalent training.
  • Washington Nursing Assistant Certification License, or Oregon Nursing Assistant Certification License, upon hire.
  • Driving may be necessary as part of this role, and caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving.

Skills

Skills required for this role include:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow a written plan of care
  • Basic knowledge of therapeutic exercises
  • Housekeeping skills

Pay

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Schedule

This role is full-time and works on a day shift.
