This role involves daily travel within Oakland County to provide care to patients in their homes, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes.
Schedule
Full-time Day Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with a weekend on-call rotation required.
Responsibilities
- Provide personalized, compassionate care to patients and families in alignment with hospice philosophy.
- Deliver specialized care to terminally ill patients in home or facility settings.
- Work self-directedly with minimal supervision in patient homes or care facilities.
- Demonstrate empathy and a calm manner while addressing the needs of the ill, injured, frail, and impaired.
Requirements
- Completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training.
- Sixteen hours of classroom training must be completed prior to 16 hours of practical training.
- Current certification as a nurse aide and good standing on the state nurse aide registry.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and valid automobile insurance coverage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, or Certified Nursing Assistant.
Skills
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English effectively.
- Comfortable providing care to terminally ill patients in home or facility settings.
- Self-directing with the ability to work with little supervision.
- Secure and calm when addressing issues of death and dying.
- Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail, and impaired.
Pay
Pay Range: $20–$24 USD per hour.
