Hospice Aide, CHHA

About the role

Acacia is an organization committed to a patient-first approach. As a hospice aide/CHHA, you will work closely with a registered nurse to provide compassionate care to patients. You will be part of a supportive team where you are treated like family.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care needs as assigned and attend to patient requests promptly.
• Give personal care including baths, oral hygiene, shampoos, changing bed linen, and assist in dressing patients.
• Assist in feeding the patient.
• Take and record oral, rectal, and auxiliary temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
• Provide proper care and observation of patient's skin.
• Assess and report on patient's condition and significant changes to the Case Manager.
• Ambulate and exercise the patient as instructed by the hospice nurse or therapist.
• Provide normal range of motion and transfers/positioning as directed.

Qualifications

• CHHA certification
• Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail, and impaired
• CPR/BLS certification
• Valid California Driver License
