Hospice After Hours Registered Nurse

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited registered nursing program
• Possession of a current license to practice in the state as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum of two years of varied work experience as a professional nurse
• Demonstrated skill in nursing practices and clinical judgments
• Ability to cope with family emotional stress and tolerance of individual lifestyles
• Current CPR Certification
• Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 4:30 PM – 12:30 AM, with every 4th weekend off, plus one summer and one winter holiday.

Territory

North Chicago, Lake Bluff, IL.

Responsibilities

• Obtain data on physical, psychological, social, and spiritual factors that may impact patient and family needs and initiate appropriate interdisciplinary interventions.
• Initiate communication with the attending physician, other interdisciplinary staff members, and external agencies to coordinate optimal care.
• Perform clinical pronouncement of death and provide support to the family.
• Maintain accurate clinical records through timely preparation of care plans, clinical notes, and progress notes.

Pay

Salary range: $80,000 – $97,000 annually, based on years of experience.
