The ideal candidate will understand how to measure for size using micrometers. This is an entry-level position with the long term goal of moving to manual machining. Requirements Operate the large hone located in the machine shopOperate the hand hone located in the machine shop*Changing Hone Heads on bothEnsure that the daily clean-up procedure completed for the Hone equipment and other machines as neededEnsure that an organized workspace is maintained and that all tooling is appropriately returned to its storage locationReport any difficulties with completing daily task(s)Follow all DHI safety guidelines and report any accidents or un-safe conditionAccurately record start and stop times in our Job Tracking System (DATS)Train to the cylinder shop Honing Procedure DHI-CS-2001-010 Qualifications/Skills Reading ID/OD MicrometersBasic Math (conversions metric to standard)Crane OperationFork Truck OperationAble to exert pressure needed to operate the hand honeAbility to lift 50 lbs. repetitively during an 8 hour shift Education HS Graduate with Vocational Training in the Machine Trades desiredWillingness to learn Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
