Position Summary
This position is responsible for the education of assigned TK-12th-grade students and will create an individualized, flexible program that supports learning and personal growth. It involves aligning instruction with the California Common Core State Standards, addressing academic intervention and enrichment needs, and providing guidance to students' parents.

The Cottonwood School offers dynamic homeschooling pathways for TK-12 students, focusing on a unique, whole-learner approach that nurtures academic, social, and emotional achievement. The school is a tuition-free, public charter school serving transitional kindergarten through 12th-grade students in Alpine, Amador, El Dorado, Placer, and Sacramento Counties.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement an individualized, flexible educational program for assigned students.
- Align instruction with the California Common Core State Standards.
- Address academic intervention and enrichment needs as required.
- Provide guidance, resources, and strategies to support optimal learning and positive social/emotional development for students.
- Work closely with students' parents to ensure effective communication and support.
Requirements
- A valid California teaching credential.
- Experience in a similar role or equivalent education and training.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing circumstances.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
- Experience in a similar role or equivalent education and training.
- Valid California teaching credential.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of the California Common Core State Standards.
- Experience with project-based learning and Montessori-inspired methodologies.
