Homemaker/Companion Live In

Right at Home, an In-Home Care office located in Wallingford, CT, is seeking Live-In Caregivers with a reliable car, driver’s license, and insurance to join a dynamic care team providing professional, comfortable, and supportive experiences for clients in their homes.

Locations

Live-in Caregivers are needed in the following areas: Wallingford, Hamden, Middletown, Cromwell, Southington, Plainville, Cheshire, Waterbury, Naugatuck, Middlebury, Watertown, Woodbury, Southbury, Terryville, Plymouth, and Thomaston.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must have a reliable car, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
• High School diploma or GED
• Must pass a full employment background check
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate with minimal assistance

Preferred Qualifications

• CNA or HHA Certification
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster, PPD, Flu, Hepatitis B, and MMR
• CPR and First Aid Certification
• 6 months of experience as a Home Health Aide in health care (in homes or facilities)
• Successful completion of a State-approved Nurse Aide or Home Health Aide course

Responsibilities

• Performs personal care activities assisting the patient with activities of daily living, including (but not limited to):
  • Personal hygiene
  • Ambulation/transfers
  • Dressing/shaving
• Prepares meals and snacks according to instructions
• Accompanies patient on errands or medical appointments
• Performs light housekeeping activities
• Performs patient-specific activities as taught by Right at Home senior caregivers and/or office staff, including (but not limited to):
  • Providing hospice supportive care
  • Medication reminders
  • Assisting with prescribed range-of-motion exercises
  • Assisting with blood glucose monitoring
  • Care of bed-bound patients
  • Incontinence care
  • Use of lifting equipment such as gait belts and Hoyer lifts
• Companionship activities such as reading, music, and puzzles

• Hoyer lift

Pay

$175.00–$262.50 per day
