About the role
This position is responsible for providing educational services to students who are homebound due to illness or medical conditions. The teacher works closely with families, healthcare providers, and other school staff to ensure continuity of education.Responsibilities
- Provide individualized instruction to students in their homes.
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to each student’s needs.
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with families and healthcare providers to support student learning.
- Attend regular meetings with the Special Education team to discuss student progress and plan interventions.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
- Valid Virginia teaching license.
- Experience working with homebound students preferred.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Flexibility to travel to various locations within the district.
Skills
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in using technology for remote instruction.
