Home Visitor Aide (.34 FTE/9 months)

0.34 FTE (9 months per year) home-based early childhood education program.

Responsibilities

• Work with families who have young children (1½–3½ years old).
• Implement an Early Childhood curriculum that helps families prepare their children for school.
• Provide regular home visits to each assigned family using appropriate educational materials and resources.
• Organize and carry out group activities with the assigned families.
• Participate in in-service training and weekly staff meetings.
• Carry out assessments, evaluations, school contacts, weekly record-keeping, and other duties as determined by the program.

Requirements

• Interest, experience, and/or education in working with young children and their families.
• Ability to relate well to young children, parents, and professionals from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Willingness to learn and use the program materials and methods.
• Flexible, dependable, have access to a telephone, and ability to get around the city.
• High school diploma required.
