Home Loan Consultant

Responsibilities

• Meet with potential borrowers to understand their financial goals and homeownership aspirations.
• Maintain knowledge of various mortgage products.
• Educate clients about the features, benefits and terms related to the mortgage options.
• Assist clients with the mortgage application process and collection of necessary documentation.
• Analyze client credit reports, financial statements and debt-to-income ratios to determine mortgage pre-qualification.
• Maintain strong client relationships to ensure long-term business growth and referrals.
• Network with real estate agents, builders and other industry professionals to generate leads.
• Provide positive customer experiences by addressing all questions and concerns related to the mortgage application and approval process.
• Maintain knowledge of all lending regulations to ensure regulatory compliance.

Skills

• Strong technical experience with origination systems.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage programs and products.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to assess clients' financial situations through financial analysis.
• Knowledge of lending regulations.

Required Experience

• High School diploma or GED and minimum of 2 years of mortgage origination experience.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Mortgage Loan Originator license approved by the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).

Preferred Experience

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration or a related field.
