Home Lending Center Loan Officer
Job Summary
The Home Lending Center (HLC) Loan Officer (LO) assists clients with the origination of residential mortgage loans, offering analysis and advice on home lending solutions that align with clients' financial goals. This role involves developing referral sources to grow Key's home lending business and client base. The HLC LO is expected to meet or exceed sales goals while maintaining high standards of client satisfaction and loan quality.
Essential Functions
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong customer service orientation.
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in outbound calling and sales/originator systems and workflow management.
- Able to assess borrower risk by analyzing credit, income, assets, and property data to ensure compliance with lending guidelines and risk standards.
- Proficient in initiating and processing loan applications, including gathering documentation, evaluating eligibility, and coordinating with stakeholders through closing.
- Experience in generating new mortgage business through client engagement, pre-qualification, and application support, ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal policies.
- Knowledge of the full mortgage lifecycle, including application intake, underwriting, processing, closing, and post-closing procedures.
- Understanding of mortgage loan products, structures, and repayment terms, with the ability to guide borrowers through financing options and obligations.
- Expertise in providing financing solutions for residential or commercial real estate, including risk assessment, loan structuring, and regulatory compliance.
- Capability to evaluate loan applications by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and collateral to determine creditworthiness and repayment ability.
- Familiarity with Federal Housing Administration (FHA) loan programs, including eligibility criteria, documentation requirements, and underwriting guidelines.
- Understanding of Fannie Mae guidelines and processes, including loan delivery, eligibility standards, and secondary market practices.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in a Business-related field or equivalent experience (preferred)
1+ years Mortgage sales (required)
1+ years Mortgage processing experience (preferred)
Skills
- Working knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, TIL regulations, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, RESPA regulations, local and state real estate and finance laws (preferred)

Physical Demands
