Home Infusion Registered Nurse
Position Overview
BJC Home Care offers a full-time, 40-hour per week, Day shift (8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) home infusion therapy position with weekend, holiday, and on-call rotations. Regular local travel throughout the BJC Home Care service area is required, including visits to patient homes, infusion suites, and other BJC Home Care locations. Compensation includes travel mileage reimbursement and is subject to IRS guidelines.
Compensation and Travel
Compensation and travel mileage reimbursement provided for eligible business travel in accordance with IRS guidelines. Position requires registering with the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry.
Overview
BJC Home Care provides a wide range of home care services, including skilled nursing, adult and pediatric hospice and supportive care, rehabilitation therapy, home infusion therapy, and specialty programs like asthma, cardiac, diabetes, orthopedic, and wound care. The Home Infusion Therapy Department works closely with physicians, patients, and caregivers to ensure patients can receive necessary intravenous medications at home.
Role Purpose
The role involves evaluating clients, providing specialized nursing services, and instructing patients on self-care techniques. As a case manager, the staff nurse coordinates all aspects of patient care.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient preferences and barriers to care, including emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
- Develop, implement, and document individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient, family, or caregiver.
- Promote respect, equity, and empathy in interactions with diverse and vulnerable populations through care delivery.
- Proactively plan and communicate the plan of care across the continuum of care.
- Implement care by integrating data from the interprofessional team and critical thinking in a safe and timely manner.
- Evaluate changes in patient's condition, inform and collaborate with family and/or caregivers, and communicate with the interprofessional team as needed.
- Evaluate current nursing care to ensure evidence-based practice and quality patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Nursing Diploma/Associate's - Nursing
- Supervisor Experience (No Experience Required)
- Bachelor's Degree - Nursing/Home Health (Preferred)
