Home Infusion Nurse

About the role

LUX Infusion is seeking a Part-Time Per Diem Infusion Nurse to provide home infusion care. The role involves inserting, monitoring, and removing IVs, administering medications, and managing patient care coordination.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and organize nursing visits according to prescriptions and protocols.
• Coordinate and confirm scheduled visits with patients and nursing agencies.
• Enter and review therapy admin reports and communicate with relevant parties.
• Document nursing care and patient activities accurately and comprehensively.
• Communicate with families, supervisors, and field personnel about patient issues and needs.
• Report problems and reportable situations to referring doctors and administrators.
• Use computer systems for scheduling, documentation, and communication.
• Insert intravenous cannulas, administer prescribed solutions, and monitor infusion sites.
• Teach patients and caregivers how to administer and monitor home infusion therapy.
• Prepare clinical records and care plans for each patient visit.
• Work in patients' homes and drive as assigned within the state.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• IV certification and experience in central line care and management.
• Current state RN license in the designated location.
• Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience.
• Valid state driver's license.
• CPR certification.
• Experience in home care, critical care, emergency nursing, AIC, or hospital discharge planning.
• Some experience in staffing and ability to multitask.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Willingness to travel and provide customer service.

Qualifications Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• RN license in another state.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to schedule and organize nursing visits.
• Ensure scheduled visits are confirmed with both patients and nursing agencies.
• Follow up on and enter Therapy Admin reports and communicate with relevant teams.
• Review and ensure completeness of nursing notes, including drug administration details.
• Communicate with families, supervisors, and field personnel about patient issues and needs.
• Report problems and reportable situations to referring doctors and administrators.
• Communicate patient and employee information to answering services as needed.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and audits as directed.
• Perform duties in accordance with federal and state laws and ethical standards.
• Coordinate staffing in a timely manner while adhering to confidentiality and ethics.
• Insert intravenous cannulas, administer prescribed solutions, and monitor infusion sites.
• Evaluate patient responses to prescribed therapy.
• Teach patients and caregivers how to properly care for their IV or PICC line.
• Work under high levels of stress and handle critical situations in the home.

PAY RANGE

$45 - $60 USD per hour
