About the role

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) provides physical therapy services and care to patients under the direction of a Physical Therapist and according to the physician’s plan of care. Responsibilities include exercise, instruction, therapeutic methods (electrical stimulation, mechanical traction, ultrasound), massage, and gait and balance training. PTAs record patient responses to treatment and report outcomes to the Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under the direction of a Physical Therapist
• Implement exercise, therapeutic methods (e.g., electrical stimulation, mechanical traction, ultrasound), and massage
• Conduct gait and balance training
• Record patient responses to treatment and report outcomes to the supervising Physical Therapist

Requirements

• One year of clinical experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant
• Current California Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) License
• Reliable transportation and auto insurance
• Valid California Driver License
• CPR Certification
• Ability to attend one week of orientation and training (Mon–Fri, 9am–5:30pm in LA office)

Schedule

• Part-time: Minimum 18 visits per week
• Per diem: Minimum 12 visits per week
• Non-traditional schedules available (e.g., Thursday–Monday)

Pay

Compensation is based on a full-time schedule and paid per visit.
